The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and Freshworks have released a report on the desires and motivations of generations Y and Z in gainful employment. This shows, among other things, that hybrid working and flexibility are more important to them than salary. Also, modern workplace technology is a standard requirement.
The report (entitled Digital contagion, trust and social influence: The technological and cultural impact of a new generation') analyzes the impact of digitalization at work and in everyday life for these generations. Among other things, it discusses the attitudes and motivations of generations Y and Z in terms of employment.

Freedom more important than salary
The newest generations in the labor market have their own expectations of jobs and employers. When choosing a job, hybrid work and flexibility are more important factors than salary. That preference is 10% higher among younger Gen Zers, reinforcing the shift from salary to freedom for this generation.
An uninvolved employer, poor management and little attention to career development - in addition to the desire to travel - were major reasons for Gen Z and Gen Y to quit their jobs. Micromanagement, tight working hours and poor communication were the main criticisms of managers.
