Research on the use of promotional products
A 2021 PPAI survey explores the question of receipt and use of product media in recent years. What kind of products were they, where did they receive them, why were they kept and how are they valued?
When asked what kind of product media received, here are the top five:
- Stationery (pen, pencil, marker, etc.)
- Magnets
- Office supplies (folder, notepad, calculator, post-it, etc.)
- Cards (gift card, membership card)
- Time-related products (calendar, diary, planner, clock)
Where was the product received?
46% took the product at a hotel, bank or restaurant, for example;
28% was awarded a product at an event;
27% received products from the employer or organization (e.g., school or union);|
48% was sent products from companies through the mail;
32% received the products with a purchase.
Why a promotional product is kept? 75% indicates a useful product. Other reasons to keep include a reminder of an event or experience (38%), just nice to have (35%), a reminder of a personal achievement (27%) or because it supports a worthwhile cause (27%).
94% of respondents say they like to receive product media. Which are also kept for a long time, by 50% even more than 5 years. More than 80% even say they would rather receive product than watch a 30-second TV ad or receive emails.
These studies do show that the power of product media goes beyond simply giving a gift. It's about leaving a lasting memory. Your associates and employees all use product media. By choosing the right gift, BeGlobal helps tell your story and leave an indelible memory.
