In many companies, it is tradition to give gifts to their employees during the Christmas season as a token of appreciation for their hard work. But why do we actually limit ourselves to just one giving moment a year? Showing appreciation is not just about material rewards. It is also about recognition, support and creating a positive work environment. By regularly showing appreciation and paying attention to employee well-being, you can foster a culture of commitment and loyalty.
How and when can you show your appreciation at multiple times?
Holidays and special dates
You can think of other holidays like Easter (who doesn't get happy with chocolate!), or the start of the summer vacations, for example. A nice bath towel with logo, a frisbee or beach bag will surely be appreciated by your employees!
Secretary day is a prime opportunity to thank secretaries, office managers or administrative assistants for their hard work, professionalism and dedication to supporting the day-to-day operations of your organization. Similarly, there is a teacher's day, healthcare day and so on.
Birthdays
To show that you appreciate individual employees, a personalized birthday card and/or a small gift is an appreciated gesture.
Anniversaries
Celebrate employees' anniversaries by rewarding them for their dedication and loyalty to the company with a special anniversary gift.
Onboarding gifts
In times of tight labor markets, it is important to make new employees more than welcome. So-called onboarding gifts are gifts that new employees receive as part of the onboarding process when they first join a company. In addition to welcoming new employees, these gifts also aim to create a positive first impression, engagement
promote and to build a strong relationship between the employee and the company. With a surprise on the first day of work (or even before), the employee feels welcomed, seen and appreciated!
Think, for example, of a notepad with pen, a nice laptop bag, a water bottle, a coffee mug with name or a T-shirt or hoodie with company logo. A nice welcome package, which you can pack in a backpack or bag, for example. And a little flower on your desk is always nice, of course!
Did you know that, as a company, the Working Costs Regulation (WKR) gives you room to give employees
offer untaxed benefits in kind? You can read more about this in the next post.
