A study commissioned by the Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien in cooperation with the Austrian trade association VÖW (Verband österreichischer Werbemittelhändler) shows that consumers are very eager to buy items where they receive a promotional product.
With a probability of 60% to 85%, they also keep that product media for a long(er) time. For consumers, promotional products do need to be functional and qualitative. For women, durability and origin of items also score high in this regard.
Preference for high-tech media
The study also gauged which promotional products are preferred by consumers. High-tech products (such as USB sticks and powerbanks) scored very high, followed by household products and writing instruments.
The study also found that consumers like to share eye-catching or surprising promotional items and business gifts on social media. This happens mostly in the under-30s group.
